In the grinding process, because of scratch, plough etc between grinding wheel and workpiece, a great deal of heat is accumulated on the surface of workpiece, which makes the temperature on the workpiece surface achieve a high degree. Grinding heat cannot be discharged in time so that workpiece will become soft, crack, especially, grinding burn will produce, which influences surface quality and integrity. In addition, high temperature also makes wheels produce jam and wear, reducing processing efficiency of wheels. Therefore, it is necessary to pour grinding fluid into grinding zone in order to decrease grinding temperature, reduce flaw of workpiece surface and improve quality of workpiece surface.The main role of grinding fluids is to reduce friction between wheel and workpiece and to decrease grinding temperature in the grinding zone. Reasonable choice of grinding fluid may improve friction at the interface, reduce bond between wheel and abrasive, restrain silver white chip and scales from producing, ensure accuracy, decrease grinding force and improve durability and production efficiency of wheels.But in the actual grinding process, due to high-speed rotation of grinding wheel, there will be a high-pressure air boundary layer on the surface of wheel, preventing fluids from going into grinding zone effectively. At the same time, the higher the wheel velocity is, the bigger the pressure of air boundary layer. So a majority of grinding fluid will run off and only a little grinding fluid plays a circum cooling role, which influences processing quality severely. In conclusion, to study and analyse grinding fluid jet process, meanwhile, to choose suitable supply parameters are significant for improving surface integrity of workpiece.Taking grinding fluids jet process of surface grinder as an example,the paper builds3D incompressible model and analyses2D jet characteristics of grinding fluids and3D jet characteristics of rectangle nozzle. On that basis, the paper raises the problems that how to choose supply parameters and what kinds of problems should be paid attention to when choosing supply parameters. Simultaneously, with the help of CFD software, a two-phase flow model is built. The paper focuses on simulating and calculating jet parameters of nozzle, at the same time, demonstrates rationality of supply parameters choosed by the surface integrity experiment of workpiece.
