Grinding process plays an important role in the whole manufacture of dressing plant, the products of which determine the index such as concentrate grade and metal recovery rate directly. Simulation is an important way to design and debug the method of control and optimization. Sorts of simulation software has been used widely in grinding area, most of which have problems such as lack of the ability to modify and change the models and algorithms of the process, as well as reusability of the models created. This thesis performs a study on the problems above and complete these work below.Anew kind information structure is put forward to describe the sub models of each devices and processes within the whole grinding process. The real forms of input and output data of these sub models and the grinding process model is configured by corresponding XML files. The algorithms of these sub models are executed by Windows dll files built by high-level programming language and MATLAB programs. The information structure based on multi-level nested structure so-called function component composites these sub models of the devices and processes and connects their input and output to build the grinding process models, which meets the requirements of modularization and reuse of the simulation software and the models. Compositing the sub models created already and connecting them together to build the entire model are supported. Just replacing the algorithm files with the new ones or modifying the configure XML file according to the specification will modify the model simulated without modifying or recompiling the simulation software, which reduces the amount of work for engineers who simulate the models and can be improved continuously. These models will be stored in the way of configure files forming model library for reusing. Flexible external data interfaces provide the ability to communicate with external data sources and simplify the specifying of the sources. Not only can local data file but also does data and signals from controllers be used to participate simulation, as well as results can be transmitted over to controller. A set of libraries is provided for building specified simulation software for users who have special requirements.A prototype of the simulation infrastructure for grinding process and a simulation software based on it for simulating industrial process have been implemented. Tests and simulation experiments are performed on the grinding process model with the latter one and the results show that the infrastructure developed can simulate the model correctly and achieve our goal proposed in this article.
