With the progress of science and technology, the industry put forward higher requirements for the miniaturization of products, such as high-tech products in aerospace, automotive, medical and other fields of high-tech products can be operated in a narrow space while ensuring the quality of Micro-machining technology, and the micro-scale processing technology is gradually on the rise in this background. As the Micro-grinding can get better surface quality compared with Micro-milling and Micro-cutting, so there are more and more research on the micro-grinding technology. Because of good abrasion resistance, high specific strength and good thermal stability, titanium alloy has become widely used in the field relating to the national defense and national economic lifelines. However, this material processing costs too much and needs high machining precision, so research on titanium alloy with precision machining technology is one of the focuses in the field of modern science and technology.This thesis mainly studies micro-scale grinding machining conducted with TC4and discusses temperature field, stress field and several parameters such as temperature, stress and cutting force, so as to analyze the removal mechanism of TC4in micro-grinding process. The main details are as follows:First, summarize the development of micro-grinding technology, characteristic and application. Then introduce the practical application of titanium alloy material, and put forward the research significance of this topic and the main content.This thesis theoretically discusses the micro-scale grinding machining mechanism, and establishes the theoretical model.It also analyzes the formation mechanism of wear debris and the calculation of minimum cutting thickness and elastic recovery height,introduces the characteristics of machining features using diamond grinding rods, an proposes theoretical model and calculation formula of micro-grinding surface roughness.Then make use of the finite element analysis software ABAQUS to establish coupled thermo-mechanical and simulate the process of the single grain cutting materials, analyze temperature and stress region, summarize temperature, stress and cutting force variation under different spindle speed and cutting depth. Divide temperature field and stress field into6regions, analyze the variation of each field in the cutting process and the changing of each field with different processing parameters.In the experimental study, using350#diamond micro-grinding rod to process TC4materials, and the grinding method is side grinding. Measure the surface roughness of machined surface in the condition of different spindle speed and workbench feeding speed, and analyze surface topography of the machined surface to get the optimal machining process parameters. The results show that spindle speed is greater influencing factor on the surface quality.Finally, summarize the main conclusions and put forward some suggestions on further relevant research.
