With the development of modern industrial, thermal spraying materials and equipments, thermal spray technology has developed rapidly. Plasma spray technology is developed as the emergence of modern aviation and space technology, it has been widely used in aviation, aerospace, military, textiles, machinery, electricity, bio-engineering and other fields. It is a thermal spray technology of a wide range of application.This paper aims to study the related performance of coating friction and wear of the plasma spraying zirconia coating and the contact fatigue life, and then the coating contact stress simulation analysis was done through the finite element method. The zirconia (YSZ) coating of yttrium partially stable and zirconia (Mg-PSZ) coating of magnesia part stable were prepared in the45#steel substrate by plasma spraying device. The micro hardness of coating was measured by micro hardness meter. Friction and wear test of coating was done by using the WMM-type1friction and wear test machine, and wear characteristics of coating under single factor was analyzed; The section morphology and wear morphology of coating were observed with scanning electron microscope; The contact fatigue life of coating was analyzed under the load condition. ANSYS software is used for simulation analysis of contact stress of coating, and the contact stress distribution of coating surface was established under the different load.The results are as follows:(1) Comprehensive coefficient of friction and wear of the quality analysis make a conclusion that wear-resisting performance of YSZ coating is better than that of Mg-PSZ coating; The wear mechanism of coating is adhesive wear, fatigue wear and abrasive wear. A group of optimal level parameter is load80n and speed500rpm by friction coefficient autocorrelation function of YSZ coating and spectrum density function.(2) Failure probability of any wear time under the same working conditions and the coating life under a certain range a working load can be predicted by different speed and different load of coating fitting curve(3) By using ANSYS to analyze contact stress of coating, it is conclusion that the contact stress value is different under different load. But the stress distribution form is the same. The stress value increases with the load increases, and the stress is in a linear relationship.
