Exhibition, as an objective phenomenon, is accompanied by thedevelopment of human development. As a branch of the exhibition, clothingdisplay is the product of commodity economy. Clothing display design of theEuropean and American developed countries blossomed earlier and up tillnow it has gradually become mature. Our clothing display and its design isstill in its infancy although the Chinese Reform and Opening-up wasgradually in line with the world. However, because of many factors like weakcommercial basis, the lack of professionals, vacant international clothingbrands, weak clothing capitals and international aesthetic orientation and soon, Chinese clothing display and its design has always followed the West’slead and imitated it passively, and gradually made progress in ongoing followand imitation. Under China’s current circumstances of rapid economicdevelopment and the international first-line brand strategy’s leaning to China,it is a good opportunity to get rid of imitation, build our characters anddevelop energetically. With the continuous changing of consuming behaviorand consumption habits, the emergence of experiential consumption andnetwork marketing brings huge challenges. In this context, the Chinesecontemporary apparel brands need appropriate clothing display to fan thefires.This thesis sorts out and summarizes the Chinese contemporary clothingdisplay from the perspective of conventional morphology and developmentspace according to different periods and analyzes and demonstrates its limitation and design thinking.
