A Bell-type annealing furnace with HPH (high perdormance hydrogen) is very important in cold rolling production. However, the formulating and optimizing of annealing process which is very complex, are difficult. Using the mathematical model to simulate the annealing process contributes to formulate and optimize the annealing process.The structure and the annealing process of bell-type annealing furnace with HPH were analyzed. In this paper, and then the corresponding annealing model was established based on segment model. Besides, the two-dimensional conduction difference equations were deduced with element balance method, and the radiative total exchange areas were solved by the Monte-Carlo method, which providing the theoretical basis for handling heat flux of radiation boundary.The annealing model contains many sub-models, including the temperature field models of heating cover, cooling cover, inner cover, smoke, the steel coil, hydrogen, and cooled media. Every model achieves the coupling solution according to the same geometric boundary and physical boundary. Taking Bell-type annealing furnace as the research object, the simulation and analysis were carried on, and confirm the correction of the model utilizing the experiment data. the all annealing process was simulated with given technological parameters, and the effect of factors on the temperature fields were analyzed, such as air input coefficient, fuel distribution and external diameter of coil diameter. The quantitative results and the law of the model show that:the model developed can realize the optimizing of the annealing process by adjusting the operation parameters while satisfying the technical requirements.
