Die-casting is a high efficiency, less machining metal forming precision castingmethod in metal working process. Die castings have good surface quality, and highprecision. They are widely used in automobiles, home appliances, communications andother industries. And aluminum disk parts has been widely used in the production ofmachinery. Using traditional casting methods such as sand casting, investment casting toproduct aluminum disk parts may cause low efficiency and low internal quality. Socombining with the characteristics of pressure casting, we may use the advantages of diecasting to find rational process route to product the aluminum disk parts efficiently.Andensure the surface quality, and mechanical properties of die castings.In this paper, aluminum polishing discs is the object for study.Combine withpractical problems existing in casting experiments, studiy the microstructure andproperties of sand casting and die casting.And launch die casting process study of A356aluminum alloy and ADC12aluminum.Comparing sand casting with die casting in microstructure and performancedifferences of aluminum polishing discs.The study using pressure cast to impact on themicrostructure and properties of ADC12aluminum.The study results show that diecasting is better than sand casting in surface quality. The primary α-Al phase in diecastings are small grains in microstructure. The dendrite looks like balls clearly. Thenumber of eutectic reduced. Eutectic Si phase also changed from granular to fineflakiness. And improved mechanical properties of castings. The tensile strength increasefrom207.50MPa to250.80MPa and elongation increase from1.09%to1.44%andVickers_hardness increased from78.0HV to97.1HV.According to A356aluminum die polishing discs the actual situation of production,redesign the appearance and mold structure of die castings.Study the effects of castingprocess parameters on formability, casting quality of A356aluminum die castings. Thestudy results show that some process parameters of A356aluminum die castings. Theinjection pressure is fixed at100MPa. The mold temperature is260℃. The pouringtemperature is670℃. The injection speed is2m/s. The die casting polishing discs haveless defacts. The deformation of the castings are controlled. The microstructure of A356 aluminum alloy in α-Al dendrites to fin.The eutectic Si phase distributed along theprimary α-Al phase grain boundary transition from rod and needle to granular. Tensilestrength is235.5MPa and the elongation is2.45%and Vickers-hardness is75.3HV.The A356aluminum alloy die casting mold filling is not smooth. There are someproblems like mucosa and casting deformation. Considering the combination of diecasting machine, die casting and die casting alloy, The flow and filling of liquid ADC12alloy is better than that of the A356alloy liquid filling.And it can match the set of diecasting mould and the technical parameters of die casting machine.The casting of ADC12aluminum alloy’s contour is clear, and there are no significant defects of die casting.It’seasy to die casting.Study the effects of two process parameters for ADC12aluminumalloy casting surface quality,stomatal number, microstructure and mechanical propertiesof casting temperature and injection speed.And increased casting process parameters.The injection pressure is fixed at100MPa. The mold temperature is260℃. The pouringtemperature is680℃. The injection speed is3m/s. The ADC12aluminum die castingsare filling integrity.And their surface quality are good.Tensile strength is250.80MPa, theelongation is1.44%, Vickers-hardness is97.1HV.So in the paper study the casting process and parameters of aluminum alloy A356and ADC12polishing. Making casting surface quality and mechanical properties better.The die casting out polishing can be used in metallurgical polishing machine after a smallamount of processing.
