Using DNA template effect, series of DNA-macrocyclic schiff basecomplexes M2+2L2(en)(ClO4)2and Zn2L(en)X2(M=Zn2+,Cd,Mn2+,Cu2+;L=DNA-schiff base ligand;en=ethylenediamine; X=ClO-4,I-,OAc-,Br-,NO-3,Cl-) have been by using designed synthetic twocomplementary base pairing amino-modi-fied DNA single strands reactwith four2-hydroxyisophthaladehy dederi-vatives:2-hydroxyisophthalad-ehyde(4-H),2-hydroxy-5-methylisophthaladehyde(4-M),4-tertbutyl-2,6-diformylphend(4-T), and2,6-diformyl-4-chlorophend(4-Cl). The produc-ts were purified and separated useing gel-electrophoresis method, andcharacteried by ultraviolet-visible spectra and mass spectra. Thefluorescent property studies of the DNA-macrocyclic schiff basecomplexes indicate that the substituted group of the aldehydes, anionsand metal ions have important effects on the fluorescent strength of thecomplexes. The fluorescent strength orders are,(1)4-H>4-Cl>4-M>4-T;(2) ClO-4> I-> OAc-> Br-> NO-3> Cl-;(3) Zn (Ⅱ)> Cd (Ⅱ)>>Mn (Ⅱ) Cu(Ⅱ).
