The ultrasonic rolling process this article uses is a kind of processing method toimprove metal comprehensive surface performance. This method is based on thetraditional rolling process to add ultrasonic device. The device applies a static pressureon workpiece surface with ultrasonic vibration, so as to realize the ultrasonic impact tothe workpiece surface.In the process of ultrasonic rolling process on45steel shaft, rolling tool head isset as a scrollable sphere, and the process parameters are changed to measureroughness and hardness values of surface. According to the measurement results,Analyzed the mechanism of ultrasonic rolling process and the influence rule ofspecimen surface mechanical properties responding to the different process parameters.process parameters have the rolling speed, feed, rolling interference quantity,amplitude and rolling times.Experimental observation and research indicate that the different processparameters have different effect on surface roughness and the degree of hardening.Toselect appropriate process parameters can reduce and even eliminate the flaw of beforeprocessing, lower surface roughness value and increase the degree of surfacehardening. However, workpiece surface could occur the micro crack and other formsof destruction with too high or too low process parameters. What′s more, the surfacequality will be destroy by repeated plastic deformation. When dealing with energy isgreater than the tensile strength, workpiece surface produces spine mark. At the same time, this article analyze self-excited vibration phenomenon under the specificparameter, and to find a method to avoid this phenomenon.Finite element analysis to ultrasonic rolling process by the software of ANSYScan make the rolling force set expediently and stress and deformation of rolledworkpieces intuitively display. What′s more, It benefit for the further analysis andresearch about ultrasonic auxiliary rolling processing.
