The purpose of this essay is to investigate the corrosive medium and the pattern of thecorrosion regarding to the refinery units in China, with the consideration of actual operationcondition of Luoyang Petrochemical Engineering Corporation/SINOPEC (LPEC), to constructcorrosion pattern flowcharts of important facilities in refinery plant such as continuousdepressurisation units, catalytic units, hydrocracking units and coking units. This cansignificantly fuel the development of corrosion prediction model of the high/low temperaturecorrosion. High/low temperature corrosion wereconsidered as different corrosion types andinvestigated respectively. The development of the prediction models of high temperaturecorrosion and the dew point corrosion at low temperature kept making progress and theprediction scheme of the corrosions were constructed successfully. Further development of thecorrosion monitoring system and anti-corrosion solution, based on the prediction scheme werealso completed. The corrosion monitoring system can precisely monitor the corrosioncondition of all the devices over the plant, and has significantly improved the effectiveness ofthe Device Management Department, due to the newly formed corrosion management systemleading by plant leader, associating with device department, process developing department,manufacturing department and the scientific research department, all work closely together tostrengthen the management of the refinery and extend its operational time as long as possible.
