Metallic glasses is recognized as the third revolution of engineering of engineering materials after the discovery of the iron and steel and the plastic materials. The corrosion-issue becomes the key focus with the development of the material using in the engineering. Metallic glass, isotropy, an effective approach for designing, offer a new focus for discover the corrosion-issue.This paper uses the Cu47.5Zr47.5A15composition metallic glass as the substrate. The paper injects2at%-4at%transition element (Co, Fe, Mn) into the substrate, according to the relationship of the mixture enthalpy with the Cu and Zr. As a result, this paper proved the effect of the corrosion resistance to the CuZr-based metallic glasses with the addition of the transition element and make the metallic glasses by suction. At last, this paper, according to the XPS text, discovered the results of the CuZr-based metallic glasses as following:It is reducing for the Glass Formation Ability (GFA) of the CuZr-based metallic glasses with the addition of the transition element. The more the transition element injected, the weaker of the GFA was. It is only1mm or1.5mm for the metallic glasses made by suction with the2at.%-4at.%addition of the transition element. The ability of the corrosion resistance of the CuZr-based metallic glassed can be incresed with the addition of the Co and Fe. The more transition element (Fe, Co) addition, the higher level of corrosion resistance comes ture. It is the highest level of the ability for corrosion resistance with4at.%Co addition to CuZr-base metallic glasses. However, it is the lowest level of the ability for corrosion resistance with Mn at.%addition into the metallic glasses. Well, the level of the ability of corrosion resistance, both the amorphous and the crystalline, with4at.%Co addition, is higher than that of the substrate. Of course, the ability of corrosion resistance between the amorphous and the crystalline, the former is higher and more stable. The surface of the CuZr-based metallic glasses is "Zr enriched" with the addition of the transition element (Co and Mn) under the XPS test, replacing the "Cu enrichment". The higher level of the Zr-enriched, the stronger ability of the corrosion resistance for the metallic glasses. The Zr in surface of the metallic glass, either polished or immersed corrosion in0.5mol/L NaCl solution for24hours, existed as Zr4+. Meanwhile, Zr exists as Zr0under surface after polished. The deeper from the surface, the more Zr0.
