| Electropolymerization of aniline has been conducted on carbon cloth through cyclic voltammetries in near-neutral (pH=6.72) and aicdic (0.05mol·L-1H2SO4) solutions both containing0.01mol·L-1aniline,0.1mol·L-1Na2SO4and50mmol·L-1sodium dodecylsulphate (SDS) to afford polyaniline (PANI) films, named as PANINS50, PANIAS50, respectively. The PANI films were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and UV-vis spectrometry (UV-vis). Surface morphologies of PANI films were investigated by scan electron microscopy (SEM). The electrochemical activities and pseudocapacitve properties of PANI were studied by cyclic voltammetry and chronopotentiometry. The results show that the presence of SDS was beneficial for the polymeraziton of aniline and1-D growth of PANI, resulting in PANI films with nanofibrous structure. While the PANI films (PANINS0, PANIAS0) prepared under similar conditions without SDS exhibit irregular morphologies. Cyclic voltammetry and chronopotentiometry tests reveal that PANI films prepared with SDS show enhanced electrochemical activites and specific capacitance compared with those of PANINS0and PANIAS0. The electrochemical activities of PANINS50(PANIAS50) was2.5(2.8) times higher than that of PANINS0(PANIAS0); and the specific capacitance of the PANINS50(PANIAS50) film increased89(53) F·g-1compared to that of PANINS0(PANIAS0). In addition, hydrolysis of PANI was depressed in the deposition solutions containing SDS.To investigate the influence of amount of SDS in near-neutral and aicdic solutions on aniline polymerization in further, a series of PANI films have been synthesized under different SDS concentration. The electrochemical activities, pseudocapacitve properties, polymer chain conformations and surface morphologies of the obtained PANI films were studied by cyclic voltammetry, chronopotentiometry, SEM and UV-vis. Besides, the critical micelle concentration (CMC) of SDS in the two different system solutions were detected via measurement of surface tension. The results display that the CMC values of SDS in near-neutral and aicdic solution are20and5mmol·L-1, respectively. PANI films prepared in solutions containing SDS of40mmol·L-1(near-neutral solution) and50mmol·L-1(aicdic solution) display the highest electroactivity and specific capacitance. In order to investigate the influence of acidity, electropolymerization of aniline was also conducted in solutions containing SDS of0.05mol·L-1with different concentration of H2SO4(0.005,0.01,0.04,0.05,0.07,0.1,0.5and1.0mol·L-1). The electrochemical activities, pseudocapacitve properties, polymer chain conformations and surface morphologies of the obtained PANI films PANISA0.005, PANISA0.01, PANISA0.04, PANISA0.05, PANISA0.07, PANISA0.1, PANISA0.5and PANISA1.0were studied by cyclic voltammetry, chronopotentiometry, SEM and.
