Panzhihua has developed to be the largest steel processing and steel production basein the western China, the largest titanium material and titanium products productionbase in China, the second largest production base of vanadium products in the world.The development foundation of Panzhihua vanadium-titanium industry is theextra-large vanadium titanium magnetite located in Panzhihua. The characteristic ofvanadium titanium magnetite resources in Panzhihua are huge reserves, high economicvalue, easy mining and difficult beneficiation. With the rapid development of vanadiumtitanium industry, some problems are emerging. First the vanadium titanium productionand processing enterprises, small scale, low industrial concentration; Followed by thevanadium and titanium industry chain is short, the key technology has not yet beenbreakthrough; finally the vanadium titanium less contact between productionenterprises, low industrial correlation.To solve the problems arising from the vanadium and titanium industry development,improve the quality of vanadium and titanium products, must strengthen the vanadiumand titanium products quality supervision and spot check, real-time control ofvanadium and titanium products quality present situation, the correct guidance andguide the existing enterprise continuously improves product quality, optimize theproduction process.This study focuses on the analysis of the key products of vanadium and titaniumindustry development vanadium pentoxide (rock) and titanium concentrate quality. In2012-2013two years, the supervision and spot checks have been carried on thevanadium pentoxide (rock) and titanium concentrate production enterprise inPanzhihua. The content of vanadium pentoxide, iron, silicon K2O and Na2O for14groups’ vanadium pentoxide samples, and that for titanium dioxide, ferric oxide,phosphorus for84groups’ titanium concentrate (rock) samples have been tested.Results showed that in2012,7batches vanadium pentoxide product were tested, andthe products from companies were unqualified, unqualified index were vanadiumpentoxide and iron. In2012,42.86%vanadium pentoxide products are met the qualitystandard. In2013, still7batches vanadium pentoxide product have been tested and theproducts from5companies were unqualified, unqualified index was vanadiumpentoxide. The qualified rate of product is28.57%. Supervision and spot checks in twoyears show that the silicon index in products is stability, while the kali+sodium oxideindex is close to a tipping point, although it is met the quality standard, the risk of individual batches unqualified is existed. Press of Panzhihua titanium concentrate(rock) alliance standards to judge, among the42batches of titanium concentrate (rock)in2012, the products from three companies are unqualified, unqualified indexes areferric oxide and titanium dioxide; the qualified rate is90.48%; among the42batches oftitanium concentrate (rock) in2013, the products from two companies are unqualified,unqualified index is ferric oxide, the qualified rate is97.62%. Although titaniumconcentrate (rock) product qualified rate is relatively high, the products from somecompanies are on the edge of45%titanium dioxide content, and the product qualityhas existential risk.
