Artificial photosynthesis was applied to reduct the CO2for decreasing its amount in theatmosphere and solve the environmental problem caused by the greenhouse effect. Comparedwith other methods, photocatalysis method of reduction of CO2has more advantages. Thereaction can be occured under normal temperature and pressure,no wastes was generated. Inthis paper, a series of sulfides of nano-materials of semiconductors was prepared throughhydrothermal method. The as-synthesized photocatalysts were used for reducing CO2toorganics in methanol. The research outcomes were listed as follows.In2S3photocatalyst was prepared by hydrothermal method and characterized byanalytical instruments. The research results showed that In2S3had a quite high surface areaand well morphology. Its BET specific surface area was168.622m2/g. More work was takento study the influence of different synthetic conditions.CdIn2S4photocatalyst was prepared by hydrothermal method and characterized byanalytical instruments. The research results showed that CdIn2S4had a high photocatalyticalactivity. The properties of the materials prepared through different sulfur source were quitedifferent under the same condition. Among the samples, the one synthesized by L-cysteineexhibited a special performance in promoting both products of dimethoxymethane and methylfotmate while the other catalysts only promoted methyl fotmate. The sample had a strongabsorbility on both the ultraviolet light and visible light. The differences were compared andthe mechanism was also discussed.CdIn2S4photocatalyst was prepared through solvothermal method and characterized byanalytical instruments. In this part thioacetamide was chosen as sulfur source. The researchresults showed that the properties include crystallinity, morphology, light absorbility andphotocatalytic activity of the catalyst prepared through solvothermal method was enhanced. The CdIn2S4synthesized by ethylene glycol exhibited a more integrity morphology andhigher activity.CdIn2S4-In(OH)3photocatalyst was prepared through hydrothermal method. Thisphotocatalyst exhibit unbelieveably high photocatalytic activity and light absorption ability. The evolution of methyl fotmate reached to12278mmol/h/gcat. It can be served as a newphotocatalyst under visible light.
