Titanium alloy has many characteristics such as high specific strength, goodcorrosion resistance, high heat resistance and easy to welding, thus is widely used invarious fields. But,because of titanium alloy is a kind of difficult-to-machine materialand the cutting speed is low, so its processing efficiency is difficult to be effectively toimprove. And in the field of aeronautics and astronautics, there are a lot of titaniumalloy thin-wall frame parts then how to improve the processing efficiency under thepremise ensure the quality of processing has always been a difficult problem. Therefore,the study of the titanium alloy thin-walled milling path optimization has a greatsignificance to improve the efficiency of processing and ensure the quality ofprocessing of such parts.Based on a common titanium alloy thin-walled parts in the airline industry as theresearch object, using theoretical analysis and software simulation proceed systemresearch on the typical titanium alloy thin-walled milling path optimization.According to the typical titanium alloy thin-walled parts material properties,structural and processing characteristics, choosing reasonable milling titanium alloycutting tools; Determine the scope of machining titanium alloy thin-walled parts millingprocess parameters.Combined with the research object of this paper, analysis the key technologies inthe process of finite element simulation; Building reasonable finite element model tostudy the deformation of thin-walled steel plate in the process of milling; And studies ofdifferent cutting parameters on the deformation of thin-walled steel plate; Determine agroup milling parameters which are more appropriate.Planning four different milling path and on the simulation through CAXAmanufacturing engineers, then we can gain the generated path、the NC machiningprogram、process list; Compare the four paths the path of the highest machining efficiency and machining quality can be obtained.Based on VERICUT software can get the further optimization path than theoptimal path which we have gained. First of all for, conduct the NC simulation processof thin-walled parts and make sure there are no such phenomenon such as overcutting,owe cutting; Then to optimize the path though VERICUT software optimizationfunction of path; Eventually we can get significantly higher machining efficiencymilling path.Through the above study shows, Ring cut (from the outgoing) path is the path ofthe machining efficiency and machining quality is higher, the use of VERICUT furtheroptimization can shorten processing time by27.1%.
