Micro miniature device has many advantages,such as the micro volume and mass、the lower power consumption、the better portability、the lower cost of materials、and soon, thus it plays the wide and important role in many areas. Therefore, more and moremanufacturing and product exploitation technology about micro miniature device hasbeen paid attention to and researched. In the precision micro-manufacturing area,micro-grinding is a new kind of micro manufacturing technology which is on the baseof traditional grinding. However, there are still not many studies on the theory andexperiments of micro-grinding. Doing research on theory and experiments ofmicro-grinding has the important realistic guiding significance for understanding thesize effects in micro-manufacturing、the work’s surface quality and micro-grindingprocessing technology. So the research work can be used to optimize and control theprocess, finally put it into production practice.This paper mainly aims at several exploratory research on micro-grindingmechanism、micro-grinding machine tool system and experiment preparation andmicro-grinding experiment on work-piece. In this paper, the specific research content isas follows:At first, it briefly summarized micro-grinding force model with widelyunderstanding about the overseas and domestic research, and then analyzed theconstitutive model of micro-grinding by combining MSG strain gradient theory. Next, itsummed the related theory formulas and their range of application.Then, it did some supplement on the preliminary micro-grinding machine toolexperimental system.The supplement consisted of the electric circuit design based ontwo DC magnetic valves that were used to control the air spindle and air bearing.Besides, it also did the research on theory and experiments on electroplatingmicro-grinding pin by two adding abrasive methods.After that, it designed19micro-grinding experiments on TC4by using quadraticregression orthogonal rotation combination design and selected RSM method to analyzethe influence of spindle speed、feed speed and grinding depth that acted on surface roughness. It provided references for micro-grinding parameters optimization andsurface quality control. It provided the basis for optimizing the process parameters andcontrolling work’s surface quality. So it supplied some instruction for the furtherapplication.Finally, it analyzed the elastic recovery height and material removal rate by theresearch on optical glass, then also analyzed the wear of micro-grinding pin through theresearch on TC4. Thus it laid a good foundation for micro-grinding research. In addition,the paper gave some advice and expectation about the shortcomings and the futureresearch direction for the subject.
