With the LWD and MWD more and more used, underground detectors, instrumentation,sensors need to consume a lot of power, the signal transfer is required to have high efficiencyand high accuracy. Not only the power and signal transmission drill pipe conveying powerfrom the ground to the underground, but also to establish a two-way high-speed informationchannel between the surface and down-hole equipment.This paper presents a new type of power and signal transmission drill pipe, it takesnon-standardized designation on the basis of the API drill pipe. Also designed a set ofelectrical connectors and sandwiches transmission structure. The electrical connectorsadvantages are reflected in the structure is simple, take a small inner diameter of drill pipejoints, self-compensating, self-cleaningFirst, this paper analyzes the design requirements and working principle of the powerand signal transmission drill pipe. Then, the drill pipe body and tool joints arenon-standardized design. Male and female electrical connector and sandwiches transmissionstructure is designed, also, the dimension and material of each part are designed, calculatedand selected, especially for non-standardized design of the sandwiches transmissionconductor structure. Drawn2D drawings and3D models using AutoCAD and SolidWorkssoftware. Checked and calculated the entire drill-string axial stress, shear stress and bendingstress. The tightening torque of the drill pipe joints threaded connection, the axial stress andthe normal force were analyzed.Create a mathematical model of deformation of the drill pipethread. Finally, use ANSYS to analyze the stress and strain of drill pipe joints, get themaximum Mises stress value figure of each thread tooth root and the tooth tip. LET relievestress structure, API stress relieve groove and a new relieve stress structure were listed. Selectthe best structural improvements. by comparing the stress, deformation and strain contours ofthe three models. The basic structural design, selection and application of the intelligent drill pipe made in this article can provide a theoretical basis.
