The Study On Corrosion Detection At Wall And Top Of Lube Oil Storage Tank

According to detect lube oil storage tank of China National PetroleumCorporation Lubricating Company subsidiary factory.there are fifteen factories.i haddetected the lube lube oil about340storages in three years. Comparison of severalpractical detection methods.we found Ultrasonic detection method is very useful todetect the lube oil storage tanks.We found the corrosion rate and the reasonaccording to the data of the corrosion storage tanks.According to the requirement ofthe subordinates, the thickness of a part of tanks were measured and the corrosionactuality was investigated. The results showed that the medium in the storage tankswere base oil, additive and finished lube. The corrosion inside the tanks are slightbecause the medium are little corrupt. The corrosion environment of storage tanksare diffirently distributed, so the protective measures are varied. In recent years，the corrosion at outside, top and bottom edge of the tank indicates an aggravatingtrend. In this paper, the corrosion at outside, top and bottom edge of the tank wereanalyzed in detailed. The basic corrosion mechanism of storage tanks is pitting,macro and micro electrochemical corrosion. The specific protective measures andthe strengthening management of the storage tank are also provided.
