Exogenous pollution includes two main parts which are point source pollutionand non-point source pollution. The point source pollution means the pollutantsdischarged from the channels or pipes, and is relatively easier to mornitor. Thenon-point source pollution means the pollution caused by the pollutants from thesurfaceground and is driven by the rainfall and surface flow. Panjiakou reservior isutilized as the drinking water source, thus it is very important to protect and managethe water resource. The study utilizes LSPC model to simulate the exogenouspollution in upstream area of Panjikou reservoir. The contribution of point sourcepollution and non-point source pollution is calculated, and the pollutants into thereservoir respectively in flood season and non-flood season are analyzed. The study primarily makes up the data needed, establishs the weather database, delineates the sub-watershed from the DEM map, conducts the soil map and thelanduse map, and then set up the model with the initial parameters. The sensitivityanalysis is carried out for the main parameters in the hydrology module and waterquality module. The calibration for the model turns out to be good. For the mainstations, the coefficient of determination between simulated flow and observed flowcould be0.62on average, and the index of agreement could reach0.86on average. Therefore, the hydrology module could be used for the water quality module. The simulation for exogenous pollution of the upstream area of Panjikoureservoir is based on the hydrology module, and the water quality module mainlysimulates the COD, TN and TP. The results indicate that the simulated concentrationis in coincident with the observed, and the monthly trend for concentration could becaptured. The non-point source pollution mainly occurred in flood season, due to theflushing by the surface flow. Finally, the management measures are proposed according to the simulationresults and the reference to other papers.
