Study On LF Slag Recycling In Thermal State

Abstract/Summary:
In recent years, with the rapid growth of steel production in China, the output ofmetallurgical slag is also increased. Up to now, a lot of measures are taken to reducethe slag output, but the slag produced in steelmaking is not dissolved effectively. Sohow to use the slag output in steelmaking process is a worldwide focus. Finding a wayto reduce or reuse the slag is not only benefit to rduce the consumption of naturalresources but also to the energy saving and promote the economic aspencts of iron andsteel enterprises.Combined with Xinyu Iron and Steel Co. Ltd, the basic properties of hot slagfrom the LF refining is measured and analyzed. Through thermodynamic analysis, thecomprehensive evaluation of LF slag on the performance of refining in hot state iscarried out. Industrial test plan is proposed and put into production. A process of LFrefining hot slag recycling is suggested and and it can provide a reference others.Through the research, following conclusions can be obtained:(1) In LF slag, the components is mainly in the state of2CaO.SiO2and3CaO.SiO2. in hot state, the slag can be melt well.(2) the slag recycled can keep a higher desulphurization rate and is of evaluationof recycling use.(3) in the different industrial test condition, a good desulpurization results can bepromised and the feasibility of LF salg recycling use can be proven.(4) with the LF salg recycling use, a benefit can be obtained as natural resources,energy and production costsaving. As a result, pollution control and obvious socialbenefit can also be reached.
