In this paper, lightweight heat-insulation wall materials were prepared by usingTexaco gasification slag as raw material with three different preparation methods.Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray powder diffractometry (XRD), mercuryintrusion porosimetry and thermal conductivity meter were used to investigate theinfluence of preparation methods and process conditions on the phase constituents,microstructure, pore size distribution and physical properties at the room temperature ofthe lightweight heat-insulation wall materials. The results were as follows:Part one: Preparing of lightweight heat-insulation wall materials by extrusionmolding method(1) When the samples were fired at1000℃, the apparent porosity, volume density,compressive strength and thermal conductivity of lightweight self-insulation wallmaterials prepared by adding20%(in mass, the same below) clay were63%,1.00g/cm3,5.3MPa and0.19W/(m·k), respectively.(2) The apparent porosity, volume density, compressive strength and thermalconductivity of self-insulation load-bearing wall materials prepared by adding30%claywere55%,1.20g/cm3,20.1MPa and0.23W/(m·k), respectively. They were56%,1.18g/cm3,16.6MPa and0.26W/(m·k) respectively when40%clay were added insamples.Part two: Preparing of lightweight heat-insulation wall materials by mechanicalagitation foaming method with clay-cement bonded phase(1) When solid content of suspension was of55%(35%gasification slag,20%clay),2%cement,0.4%dispersant and10pH, the suspensions with high solid content, low viscosity and good rheological can be obtained.(2) By comparison experiment of foaming agents (sodium dodecyl sulfonate,sodium dodecyl sulfate), it was found that the product can be made with good propertieswith adding1.0%sodium dodecyl sulfonate. The apparent porosity, volume density,compressive strength and thermal conductivity of the products were67%,0.88g/cm3,9.5MPa and0.17W/(m·K), respectively. The products prepared by this method werebelong to lightweight heat-insulation wall materials.Part three: Preparing of lightweight heat-insulation wall materials by hydrogenperoxide foaming method(1) When the solid composition was35%gasification slag,20%clay,2%cementand0.4%dispersant lightweight heat-insulation wall materials were made by adding1.0%H2O2. The apparent porosity, volume density, compressive strength and thermalconductivity of the products were68%,0.79g/cm3,8.2MPa and0.16W/(m·K), respecti-vely. This kind of products was lightweight heat-insulation wall materials.
