Graphene is a kind of two-dimension carbon material which is a single-atom–thick sheetand composed of sp2–bonded carbon atoms. Since its discovery in2004, graphene hascaught a lot of attention owing to its unique structure and particular properties such asexcellent mechanical, optical, and electrical properties. Graphene-based polymer materialsalso triggered enormous interest for extremely high conductivity and strong mechanicalproperties. The main contents are as follows:1.A radical initiator was grafted to the graphene sheets, RGO/PAM was obtained by in-situradical polymerization of acrylamide. The RGO/PAM composites was used as a adsorbentto absorb lead ion and methylblue. When PAM chains were grafted to graphene, thesolubility of graphene in water was improved. For the existence of nitrogen and oxygenatom of the PAM units, RGO/PAM composites has a good absorption for lead ion andmethylblue. The adsorption capacities of RGO/PAM composites are1000mg/g and1530mg/g (298K) for Pb(II) and methylblue, which are two or three times than that of graphene. The experimental data of RGO/PAM isotherms for Pb(II) and MB followed the Langmuirisotherm model. The adsorption kinetics of Pb(II) and MB onto RGO/PAM can be wellfitted to the pseudo-second-order model. The adsorption processes of Pb(II) and MB ontoRGO/PAM are spontaneous at298,308, and318K. RGO/PAM composites will have anextensive application in the future as an excellent adsorbent.2. Janus graphene sheets were synthesized by using polystyrene (PS) microsphere as atemplate. Firstly, pyrene groups was grafted to PS microsphere by reaction with aminogroups of the PS microsphere and1-pyrenebutyric acid. Afterwards, graphene sheets wereadhered to PS microsphere via π-π stacking. Finally, quaternarizedpoly(2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate)(q-PDMAEMA) were grafted to graphenesheets by π-π stacking. Janus graphene sheets with PS chains on one side and hydropHilicq-PDMAEMA on the other side were obtained by solving PS microsphere template in THF.The structure of the Janus graphene sheets was characterized by AFM, TEM, XPS, IR and1HNMR.
