With the rapidly development of tertiary oil recovery technology, the crude oil reservesthat suitable for polymer flooding are decreasing. So the important task of oilfielddevelopment is how to improve the recovery of remaining crude oil after the polymerflooding continually.Currently, the polyacrylamide be widely used as displacing agent, but it can not do thelong-term displacing task due to its easily aging and being hydrolyzed in the harsh conditionsuch as high temperature, high salinity and high shear. So there is an argent need a new highperformance displacing agent to satisfy the needs of crud oil extraction. TheBranch-Preformed Particle Gel(B-PPG)system makes up for the lack of polyacrylamide, while the performance indicators can satisfy the demands for crude oil extraction. The B-PPGflooding system is a new type of displacing agent with some excellent performance. There islittle research at present but there is broad application prospect. The stability of crude oil emulsion with B-PPG and processing method through thebottle method and light-scattering method. The developing, selecting and evaluatingtreatment agent is guided by analyzing emulsion nature and B-PPG’s characteristics.Theeffect of displacing agent concentration, treatment dosage, temperature and other factors onthe stability of crude oil emulsion are researched. By the contrast the B-PPG and polymerflooding affecting the stability of crude oil emulsion, evaluating the performance of B-PPG.And the results show that the crude oil emulsion by B-PPG is higher stability than bypolymer flooding, and prove the B-PPG has better displacing affect.
