In the middle and later stage of developing lower wuerhe reservoir of district No.8, suchphenomena as severe water approaching, water flooding to high extent in fractured area andunbalanced developing state in horizontal and vertical reservoir can occur.To solve the problems mentioned above, based on literature investigation to makeresearch on displacement mechanism of foam flooding, application status of foam flooding inpilot was summarized. Started from reservoir dynamic analysis and combined with reservoirengineering method, developing effect and influence factors of lower Wuerhe reservoir eightharea were analyzed. Based on the good command of reservoir developing regular pattern andstatistical analysis method, water injection pattern effectiveness was evaluated from severalaspects. In view of prophase analysis, synthetic models were built aiming at ultra-lowpermeability reservoir, reservoir characteristic parameters were analyzed and foam floodingto enhance oil recovery was proposed. Lower Wuerhe reservoir Wu2area in south area waschosen as the experimental zone, practical reservoir geological model was built and historymatching was done in order to optimize foam flooding parameters and to compare infillingplans. The advantage and reliability of application of foam flooding in ultra-low permeabilityreservoirs were illustrated.The research results showed that:(1) For lower Wuerhe reservoir eighth area, the fracture water absorption characteristicis obvious, zone、belt、section characteristic is founded in water flooded area, and the waterflooded zone is increasing.(2) Obvious imbalance in horizontal and vertical directions was summarized inreservoir developing process, effective water flooding system was preliminarily establishedafter the forth infilling project and the pressure recovered obviously, the productivity canmaintain stable. However, such problems as non-correspondence relationship of injection-production, uneven developing effect in horizontal and vertical direction can bediscovered.(3) The availability of foam flooding in ultra-low permeability reservoir wasdemonstrated, and a set of foam injection parameters was optimized for Wuerhe reservoireighth area. The parameters are as follows: gas injection volume50000m3per day, foamconcentration5Kg/m3, foam should be injected continuously. Compared with infillingschedule, the foam flooding plan can reveal the superiority.
