LNG containers come into being with a wide demand of liquefied naturalgas(LNG for short) home and abroad. LNG storage tank is indispensable to directlystore the liquefied. Once damaged under explosive impact load, tones of flammableliquid will leak and burn and even explode,then,destructive secondary disasters willhappen. Therefore, the safety of the storage tank under the impact load during the tankconstruction must be ensured.The development history and design point of LNG storage tank was introduced;the basic principles of structural dynamic analysis and the analytical solutions ofstructure under simple impact load was recommended; suitable elements type andmaterial model and reasonable simplification was adopted to build the finite elementmodel of LNG tank and dynamic response of tank was analyzed; Finally, thereliability of LNG storage tank was obtained by using Monte Carlo method inANSYS.Seven kinds of working conditions were selected to simulate the dynamicresponse of tank under explosive impact load to consider the influence of location,area and time. The displacement and force was illustrated to contrast the affection ofeach working condition. At last, the reliability of LNG storage tank was obtained byMonte Carlo sampling.Conclusions as follows are obtained: the dynamic response of tank is related tothe location the load on, where in the height of10m the response is the mostobviously; the affection of impact load is partial, stress and strain has great change inlocal district; the maximum displacement is appeared during free vibration, which hasa matter with the ratio of the duration of impact load and vibration period of tank; thereliability of tank is invariant when the impact load acts on the area of10m2,whilethe area expand to the size of a whole tank, the reliability index will decrease to3.35with Monte Carlo sampling; the reliability of system is3.8which meet thespecification of minimum requirements of code.
