| Grate cooler is an important device for transporting, cooling and heat recovery ofcement clinker. At present, this kind of grate cooler had developed into a new generation ofhigh efficiency type cooling machine with a completely innovative concept, so called thenew grate cooler. This paper studied the evaluation method of new grate cooler in thetransportation performance. It will help to optimize the grate cooler transportation mode,improve the transportation and cooling efficiency of cement clinker. It has importanttheoretical and practical value to the development and perfection of new grate cooler.At present cement clinker had some problems in the transportation process, such aslayer segregation, poor stirring ability, back feed. This paper first independently designeda semicircle swing-push grate cooler in order to meet the higher requirements for clinkertransportation. Menawhile deeply analyzed the current transportation characteristics of thenew grate cooler. Established a set of evaluation method of the new grate cooler in thetransportation efficiency and turnover stirring ability. Secondly, this paper introducedparticle element discrete method to the transport movement of cement clinker in order toobtain the motin characteristics of clinker in EDEM simulation. Established a particlecontact mechanics model of cement clinker, and Analyzed the basic principles andcalculation process of particle discrete element method. In order to got the related physicaland mechanical parameters of cement clinker particles in the discrete element simulation,designed a series of experimental method to determine the particle size, density,coefficient of friction, elastic modulus and impact coefficient of restitution.On the basis of the above research, The self-designed swing-push cooler andSF-type push cooler as the research examples, simulated the two kinds of grate coolertransportation movement process for cement clinker by EDEM. This paper discussedexcellent characteristics of the two kinds of grate cooler in transportation performance.The results show that swing-push cooler is obviously superior to SF-type push cooler intransportation performance. |
