The practical effects and the abrasion resistance research of Carbon steel by ion permeability tungsten carbide. Wear is the most common cause of mechanical metal parts and the maximum amount of invalidation, So on the basis of consulting the domestic and foreign documents about improving metal steel parts abrasion resistance, this paper Use ion permeability tungsten carbide alloy technology to process the surface of raw material including20#steel,60#steel,45#steel and60Si2Mn steel. The sample is analyzed from two angles of hardness value and abrasion resistance. Then it use the microscopic aspect technology of microstructure analysis, SEM analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis and Spectrum analysis to explain the changes of the carbon steel after ion permeability tungsten carbide on the hardness and wear resistance. It hope to find a kind of steel treated by ion permeability tungsten carbide technology,which can meet the needs of high hard materials used in industrial production and can meet the requirements of high wear resistance.The experiment adopts the technology of ion permeability tungsten carbide, by the high-energy ion beam seeping into the commonly used different carbon steels, to change the organization structure on the surface of the steel. It will form high wear resistance of tungsten carbide permeability layers. Through testing the surface hardness and wear resistance of the permeability layer of material sample carbide and contrasting the analysis results of the hardness value and the abrasion resistance, the experiment will find out the related laws between the hardness value and the abrasion resistance. Then from the aspects of microscopic microstructure, it use the optical microscope, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction, and EDS to observe the microstructure of the analytical sample structure and analyze the hardness values and the abrasion resistance.. The results show that the20#steel,45#steel and60#steel and60Si2Mn steel after high energy ion permeability WC, compared with the original material, their hardness value increase nearly1times, and their wear resistance increase nearly2times. But for60Si2Mn the high hardness material, after ion permeability WC, its hardness value has have fallen by almost1times, but its wear resistance is still higher than the original material, its wear resistance increase nearly1times. Therefore, The theory of the corresponding relationship of the material hardness and wear resistance is not applicable the ion permeability WC technology. This is due to the ion permeability tungsten carbide technology will change the microstructure of raw materials But from the overall analysis of microstructure, ion permeability WC technology can make the tungsten carbide layer and the steel substrate both form metallurgical combination, thus achieve complementary advantages between the materials. The surface has the high hardness, high wear resistance WC permeability layer. The inner retains the hardness, strength and toughness of the raw material. Therefore the final result shows that the ion permeability WC, in a certain range the steel material not only has high hardness, high strength and high wear resistance and other comprehensive performance, but also can replace the wear-resistant steel such as tool steel, high-speed steel, etc. and replace the surface modification technology such as welding, spraying, etc.
