Wax esters are long-chain fatty acids esterified to long-chain alcohols, which can be partitioned of saturated and unsaturated. Wax esters have been used widely in many fields including chemical industry, textile, pharmacy, commodity, food industry and other industries. however, Application of wax esters is limited by its high cost of production, so an efficient and economic process to synthesize wax esters has to be made.At first, this paper studied the synthesis of cetyl Palmitate from palmitic acid and cetyl alcohol in organic solvent system using immobilized lipase from Candida sp.99-125. The effect of various factors on reaction was optimized, including temperature, the time course, water content, substrate molar ratio, the life of lipase and so on. An optimum condition was confirmed. The product after reaction was separated and purified effective, which can reach98%above and achieve standard of commodity. The kinetics was also investigated. It showed that the initial reaction rate could be described with Ping-Pong Bi-Bi mechanism. Proper kinetic models by different substrate concentrations were optioned, and the values of the apparent kinetic parameters were computed. Also, this paper studied the synthesis of sperm whale oil analog respectively from mixed fatty acid and rapeseed oil by esterification and transesterification using immobilized lipase from Candida sp.99-125. The effect of various factors on reaction was optimized. The products were purified and identified.Enzymatic synthesis of sperm oil analogue was studied by using mixed oleic acid and cetyl alcohol in a solvent-free system. An equation that contains four variants(temperature, molar ratio, lipase dosage, time) is set up by using RSM(response surface method):Y1=73.862+5.4925X1+16.81X3+2.510833X4-6.2895X12Some important parameters were optimized by RSM in this work, and they are almost uniformed with experiment value.Enzymatic synthesis of another sperm oil snalogue was studied by using rapeseed oil and cetyl alcohol as substrate in an organic solvent system and a solvent-free system. Several factors which influenced wax ester synthesis were investigated comparatively. The reaction could be performed in presence of hexane and the highest yield of wax ester (85.87%) was obtained and the yield of wax ester can reach80.68%in solvent-free system. The major components of two sperm oil analogue were similar to the natural sperm oil by identification of production. It was testified that they have peculiarity alike of long-chain lubricant and as a substitute of natural production.
