Coal-burning power plants owns huge scale. It consumes many materials when burningpower, emissions many pollutions, emissions concentration. And the influence range is bigsewage. These make coal-fired power plants has become a major source of pollution in manyareas. In order to control coal-burning power plants make more harm to the environment, weought to carry out an environmental impact assessment of coal-fired power plants, so as toallow decision-makers of plant realize the impact on the environment caused by the plant. Then it’s time to make effective improvements timely. Therefore, the research in this paperis theoretical and practical.Looking at the impact of natural, ecological and socio-economic impact of coal-burningpower plants, combining with the research results in the domestic or abroad, at fist this paperanalyzes environmental impact, Secondly, build a environmental impact indicator system ofcoal-burning power plants and be sure the weight of each index through the use of AHP.Then establish evaluation model by the use of TOPSIS to separate assessment includingnatural, ecological and socio-economic impact index system, then to the wholecomprehensive evaluation. Finally, we use this model into practice and select the study ofCangdong plant in Hebei to prove the feasibility of the model which is built in this paper andto provide some reference value for the environmental impact assessment of coal-burningpower plant. Both the index system and the evaluation model are proved to be both effectiveand efficient in the thesis. Therefore, the research in this paper is both theoretical andpractical.
