Abstract:To solve one of the common technical problems of dry tailings disposal in rainy regions, namely, dry tailings pile susceptible to frequent rain, to reduce rain damage to dry tailings pile, to seek for praticable waterproof scheme for dry tailings desposal and to promote the use of dry tailings technology in rainy regions, a gold mine located in Guiyang was selected as the project background and application of dry tailings and waterproof technoloogy were studied systematically in rainy regions by combined methods of engineering design, theoretical analysis and laboratory test. In this paper the main work accomplished and achievements are as follows:(1) Design scheme of dry tailing deposition of a gold mine in Guiyang was accomplished, including tailings dewatering process, dewatering equipment, site selection, tailings pile process, flood control system and safety management system of the dry tailings yard, which provides a feasible scheme for the disposal of mine tailings.(2) According to geographic characteristics and climate feature of Guiyang, dry tailings solidification method was put forward, based on analysis of damaged process of dry tailings disposal with chain effect method and study on soil solidification method.(3) Laboratory test was adopted to verify feasibility of dry tailings solidification method. Unclassified tailings of the gold mine in Guiyang was chosen as raw material and one kind of classical organic curing agent,epoxy and one kind of classical inorganic curing agent,water glass were chosen as main material to prepare two groups of curing agent separately. Curing effect of solidifying tailings was analysed, wind resistance, heart resistance and rain resistance of solidifying tailings were tested. Results show that:Four kinds of curing agents all have effect to dry tailings solidification, and hardening effectiveness of organic curing agent is better than that of inorganic curing agent, and hardening effectiveness of organic curing agent B (compound curing agent of epoxy E51and epoxy resin curing agent T31) is best. (4) The results of the test have verified feasibility of dry tailings solidification method. At the same time, design scheme of the dry tailing deposition was completed and some suggestions on dry tailings pile and and selection of curing agent for conduction of curing waterproof technology were put forward, according to the the results of the test.
