Carbide alloy is mainly composed by hard compound and metal binder, and the binder plays a role in wetting and bonding the hard phase. So a right binder is the key factor of Guaranteeing the good mechanical properties of the carbide alloy. Cobalt has been considered as the best bonder of making carbide alloy because of its good wettability and adhesion to the carbide. However, cobalt is the national strategic metal, and the shortage of cobalt resources makes it an urgent problem to find a more economical material to replace cobalt. So in this article, using Nickel to be the bonding phase, whose resources are much more rich compared with cobalt, to prepare the WC-Ni carbide alloy with good performance. In this article, take YN6carbide alloy as research object, using the orthogonal test, optimizing the milling time, the content of rare earth, pressing pressure, sintering temperature and such parameter, preparing the YN6carbide sample with good performance. through the detection technology such as metallurgical microscope, SEM, energy analysis and XRD to observe and research the microstructure of the alloy. The SEM results showed that the size of the alloy grain is uniform, no impurity components, different degrees of holes exist in the alloy, and the number of the holes reduce with the rise of the sintering temperature. EDS analysis results showed that the rare earth would generate the brittle aggregation in the alloy and have influences on the bending strength of the alloy when the dosage of the rare earth was1.0%. XRD results only showed the diffraction peaks of WC and Ni, there was no diffraction peak of impurity was found, it showed that we obtained the sintered sample with pure organization. At last, analyzed the performance of density, hardness, bending strength and coercive force of the YN6carbide alloy, obtained that the sintering temperature and the milling time are the main factors which influence the density, hardness, bending strength and coercive force of the alloy, and analyzed the reasons why each factor influenced the density, hardness, bending strength and coercive force. Finally obtained the best experimental parameter: Milling time:60h;The content of rare earth:0.5%;Pressing pressure:6MPa;Sintering temperature:1450°C.And under this condition, we can obtained the YN6carbide alloy with these properties:Hardness:91.0HRA;Bending strength:1720N/mm2;Density:14.78g/cm3;Coercive force:6.30KA/m...
