At present, the market retains quantity of WEDM-HS in our country already exceeded600thousand, which has provided strong support for the rapid development of mold manufacturing and related industries. But there are still many problems, such as its processing efficiency of80-150mm2/min, the processing precision is±0.01mm, the best surface roughness the value of Ra is2.5μm, the processing index is far less than foreign WEDM-LS, whose average working efficiency is200~300mm2/min, machining accuracy is±0.002mm, the best value of surface roughness Ra is0.2μm. In order to improve the cutting efficiency and surface processing quality of WEDM-HS. Based on a large amount of processing practice, some improvement and exploration was be made.In the actual processing, all kinds of processing parameters such as wire speed, tension, electrical parameters etc. How to choose will directly affect the machining quality and surface roughness. The reasonably processing parameters is an important guarantee for stable and efficient cutting. Based on a large amount of WEDM-HS machining practice on DK7732, having analyzed the impact on processing quality in the selection of the main parameters, then provides some reference for WEDM-HS in selecting the processing parameters.At the same time, the wire vibration is one of the important factors affecting WEDM machining quality and machining stability, thus to ensure good cutting quality, improve processing efficiency, the vibration of wire must be inhibited and improve its stability of the dynamic operation. Based on the analysis of the factors causing the vibration of wire electrode and simulate the vibration of wire electrode by ANSYS, which provide theoretical evidence for suppressing the vibration of wire electrode, then make some measures and the tensioning device is improved to reduce the vibration of wire electrode and obtained certain result.In addition, the study also found the main reason that HSWEDM process index failed to get improved significantly is erosion product failed to discharge timely from the slit gap and the discharge gap is not fully cooling. In order to solve the problem from cooling, draw lessons from high pressure liquid spray device of WEDM-LS, then some research on the high pressure liquid supply cutting processing was done and achieved some achievement. The study found the deficiency of fluid has been effectively improved, the efficiency of machining thick workpiece has also greatly improved, the average efficiency of cutting through80mm2/min, the maximum cutting efficiency has increased by20%, and the cutting surface quality has greatly improved.Therefore, choosing the reasonable processing parameters have great significance in improving the machining efficiency and surface quality, the influence of tensioning device and the tensioning force on the processing can also not be belittled. It will bring huge improvement in cutting efficiency and surface quality while the high pressure liquid spray device apply to WEDM-HS, and laid a foundation for improving Medium Speed Wire cut Electrical Discharge Machining.
