The oil industry is a vital part of the national economy, for security relationship drillingequipment to the oil rig safety. By non-destructive testing of steel welds on the rig for testingis particularly important.Combining theory and basic research for the oil rig steel weld inspection methods ofnon-destructive testing techniques, for2012~2013Bohai Petroleum Equipment Co., Liaoheheavy oil rig production ZJ90DB series steel weld quality are often used to detect twonon-destructive testing methods were studied, which analyzes the importance of the oil rig inthe weld joints welded steel forms of magnetic particle inspection and ultrasonic testing,draw the corresponding test results, while a more systematic summary and analysis.Prepared by defective test block, and a magnetic particle and ultrasonic testing, testresults show that the rig steel welds NDT methods, high-magnetic detection efficiency, theweld surface and near surface defects detection rate, but easy to change the spatial location ofweld defects undetected; ultrasonic testing high flexibility of magnetic defects can bedetected by quantitative and qualitative analysis, high detection efficiency. With the use oftwo methods can detect most of the rig steel weld defects and more reliable judge.
