Organic solvent A and supercritical CO2as swelling agents, benzoyl peroxide (BPO) asan initiator, grafted maleic anhydride (MAH), acrylic acid (AA) onto PP macromolecularchain,the factors of the initiator amount, monomer content, swelling temperature, swellingtime, reaction temperature, reaction time were studied in this paper, the optimal conditions ofthe two-steps preparing for the polar polypropylene were studied. By Fourier transforminfrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TG) were characterization thegrafted product; The PP/PA6composites were prepared with the grafted polypropylene ascompatibilizer, The amounts of compatilizer and PA6effecting on the mechanical behaviorof PP/PA6composites were studied.Organic solvent A assistance double monomers grafting modified of PP. When dosage of PPis10g, the experimental results show that monomer feeding amount was0.6g, the monomerratio nMAH: nAA=1:1, the amount of initiator was0.03g, the amount organic solvent A was14mL, swelling temperature of40℃, the swelling time was2.5h, the reaction conditionswere100℃/2.5h, the graft ratio of4.89%grafted product was obtained. The experimentalresults showed that the MAH and AA have been grafted onto PP macromolecular chain,thermal stability of the grafted product has been improved comparing with PP.Supercritical CO2assistance double monomers grafting modified of PP, the experimentalresults show that monomer feeding amount was6%of the quality of PP, the monomer rationMAH: nAA=1:1, the amount of initiator was0.4%of the quality of PP, swelling pressurewas9MPa swelling temperature was40℃, the swelling time was3h, the reaction conditionswere100℃/2.5h, the graft ratio of5.13%grafted product was obtained. The experimentalresults showed that the MAH and AA have been grafted onto PP macromolecular chain,thermal stability of the grafted product has been improved comparing with PP.The organic solvent A assistance PP grafted products (GPP1) and the supercritical CO2assistance PP grafted products (GPP2) were used in the blending of PP/PA6as a compatilizerrespectively, PP/PA6system mechanical performance is significantly improved. Whenamount of GPP1and GPP2were8%and6%of PP, the tensile strength of PP/PA6blendsystem is the best, When amount of GPP1and GPP2were6%and4%of PP, the impactstrength of PP/PA6blend system is the best, smaller bending strength of the blend variations.Tensile strength and impact strength increased about94%and202%than those withoutadding compatilizer of PP/PA6; The tensile strength and the impact strength of the blend of PP/PA6increase with the increase of dosage of PA6, bending strength basically remainunchanged.
