Mine is increasingly under threat of the karst water hazards, especially the water conducting karst channel under the Permian coal measure strata, so how to explore the karst channel developmental condition of the limestone aquifer is one of the key to solve the problem.Zhangj i coal mine in Huainan is located in the western margin of the Panxie mine in the Huainan coal field, belonging to the typical Huaibei coal mine type and threatened by all kinds of limestone water hazards. Therefore, how to explore the developmental condition of limestone channels has a great practical significance for mine water prevention and treatment.Based on consulting domestic and overseas literatures of mine water prevention and treatment and tracer test, the tracer test model equipment has been designed on the basis of medium characteristics of the limestone aquifer. Then tracer test of single pipeline and double pipelines has carried out in laboratory, and the variation curve of tracer concentration with the time passed has obtained. Based on the test data, the mechanism of the tracer test has been researched. Then, the relationships among the tracer concentration variation, the water level change of the observation hole and channel characteristics have been investigated.In order to explore the channel developmental condition of limestone water burst in Zhangji coal mine as soon as possible, the research results of tracer test are applied to explore the limestone aquifer channel in Zhangji coal mine. Combined with hydrogeological condition and dynamic characteristics of the aquifer water level, tracer tests of C3-Ⅰ group, C3-Ⅱ group limestone aquifer, the Ordovician limestone and the Cambrian limestone aquifer are carried out to analyze variation characteristics of tracer peak concentration of the different limestone aquifers. Then the channel developmental condition of the limestone aquifer from boreholes of injected tracer to received site is revealed. The results of test and analysis indicate that there are many karst migration channels in the limestone aquifers including C3-Ⅰ group, C3-Ⅱ group limestone aquifer, the Ordovician limestone and Cambrian limestone aquifer in1413A working face field in Zhangji coal mine, which also shows that water inrush of1413A working face is the mixing water of multi-sources. The results will provide an important reference for the further studying on the comprehensive prevention and treatment of limestone water hazards.
