The plumule need to be removed before we eating lotus seed and the mainlyremoval methods of the plumule include core drilling and lotus seed splitting. Coredrilling type is drilling the plumule into ash and then discarding it, while the lotusseed splitting processing can keep full plumule. Because of its high nutritional valueand medicinal value, lotus seed with its splitting and getting full plumule lotus will beable to improve the additional value of lotus seed. The lotus seed splitting has been amanual operation for a long time, which is due to its different size and irregular shape.This manual mode of production has its own defect such as low production efficiency,high labor intensity, unsafe operation and so on. Besides it is limiting the increasing ofplumule production. In order to make the lotus seed splitting processing become amechanical and automate method, transform and upgrade traditional industries, thisarticle explain the design of adaptive pneumatic machine of lotus seeds splitting fromthe lotus seed center locating technology, splitting force calculation and the realizationof the splitting mechanism, etc. Major contributions of this dissertation are as follows:(1) According to the configuration characteristics of lotus seeds, an adaptivecenter-locating mechanism, which includes slider-crank mechanism and rockermechanism, has been designed to ensure the plunger chip centering when lotus seedssplitting and eliminate effects of lotus seeds’ different sizes by comparing variousways. The mathematical model has been established, size relations between eachcomponent has been analyzed. An optimal solution satisfying the requirement with theleast error has been found through the use of fireflies’ algorithm for size optimizationcalculation.(2) Splitting force analysis of lotus seeds, lotus seed holder force splittingtheoretical formula is deduced. Choose a better method of double head type splitting,test analysis of various factors on the new method, the influence degree of the openside force. The results showed: splitting top cone head size of the cone Angle on thelotus seed average open side force had the greatest influence, followed by a greaterinfluence on the lotus seed moisture content, lotus seed short axis diameter size oflotus seed average splitting force effect is very small.(3) It has designed the key component of the lotus seeds splitting operator---thegripper. The overall deformation, the deformation of all direction, the stress and fatigue value of swing arm in splitting processing has been analyzed by FiniteElement Analysis tools. The result shows that the design is qualified to the functionalrequirements.(4) The design of the adaptive pneumatic machine of lotus seeds splittingpneumatic circuit is completed. Through the calculation and selection of pneumaticcomponents, choose a suitable air compressor.(5) Under NX8.0software environment, the adaptive pneumatic machine of lotusseeds splitting is designed, which includes transport mechanism, positioningmechanism, splitting mechanism and discharging mechanism. The modeling andassembling are made, and interference check clearance and simulation analysis iscarried out on the model.
