Superhydrophobic surface has some unique properties, such as excellent self-cleaning property, antifouling, anti-fog, waterproof, et al, those performances have great potential value in many fields. Low surface energy materials and surface roughness structure, which is two critical factors of forming superhydrophobic surfaces. This paper is based on the above two points for preparing superhydrophobic surface. However, simply prepared superhydrophobic surface has been unable to meet people’s needs, people hope that surface has both superhydrophobic and good transmittance, which has become the focus of the study. Transparent superhydrophobic coatings have good transmittance, besides ordinary superhydrophobic properties, which can be applied to architectural glass and automotive windshields with a broader outlook. There has been a lot of research in this area, but there are some weaknesses, such as the lack of large-scale interoperability and the preparation of harsh conditions, while the most important drawback is the poor durability of superhydrophobic surfaces. Therefore, the reserach on transparent superhydrophobic coating of simple operation and good durability is more meaningful. This paper aims at obtaining transparent superhydrophobic coating meanwhile increasing durability.In this paper, two aspects are explored:durability and transmittance(1)One aspect is the improvement of the adhesion between coating and glass. Polymers of good adhesion with glass, such as epoxy resin, polydimethylsiloxane, silicone weatherproof sealant and organic montmorillonite, composite with modified silica to obtain superhydrophobic surface with the method of adjusting the content of the polymer and modified two silicon oxide. Moreover,characterization methods such as the contact angle, roll angle, SEM, AFM, boiling water and heat resisting experiment are used to test superhydrophobic surface. At last, we get polymers of good durability and superhydrophobic surfaces.(2)The other aspect is the improvement of transmittance of coating. This paper selects the sol-gel technique to get suitable SiO2, using TEOS as precursor, by adjusting the temperature, ammonia and other variables. Finally, the superhydrophobic surface of good durability and high transmittance is obtained. And the contact angle, roll angle, SEM, light transmission rate, these characterization methods are used to test superhydrophobic surface to get the superhydrophobic coating of high transmittance.Through the study of the above two aspects, we get the superhydrophobic surface of good durability and high transmittance.
