Hat is a significant part of costumes culture in each period, and it has beenchanging by the influences of economic, political, cultural and other factors. Dueto the limited space of master’s thesis paper, this paper takes typical hats asrepresentative in hats’ long development and changing history, and analysis thedevelopment of wearing hat in the whole clothing history, researching from theshape of the hat, thus we learn that the ways of hat development includecross-cultural communication, as the core of the ceremony and conforming to thetime, put forward thinking development of contemporary hat.This thesis comprises six chapters. The first chapter is the introductionpart and the second chapter describes the origin of hat, it evolved from towel andwas promoted by the human’s understanding, conquering and transforming thenature, and analysising "crown" and "hat" crown is focused on the symbolicritual used to express identity or attire, but mainly cold and warm hats, and otheruseful features to protect prople from the hat on the whole functionality elaborateand defined.The third chapter is mainly relying on the political system and history ofsocial thoughts from the single hat style to the entire outside of the hat style,forming the subject of doing a whole sort and analyzing the context of the wholedevelopment, from a strict hierarchy, clear identity dress to Chinese culturalfreedom hat changes brought about by modernization showing a colorful hatculture, this long process of evolution, as embodied in the symbol of the crowncap era ideas and thoughts.Chapters IV and V from the lateral anatomical hats worn functional changes,the first study of the two civilizations spiritual and material point of view hat hatby different functional analysis. With semiotics, social psychology theory examining various hats inherent spiritual civilization,"rite of passage" symbolicsignificance in the hat, find relevant historical data from folklore, history andfrom the hat decorative features to use features, new materials and newtechnology to promote the hat’s development process. Then the overall analysisof integration and its history midification, obtained external motivation factors:political systems, economic, social trends, cultural exchanges and folk andintrinsic motivation factors, costumes ideas, aesthetic pursuit, and socialpsychology changes.Looking at the whole dress culture, whether it is relying on the hat clothingor other cultural studies history, literature and psychology are rarely carried outsystematic analysis. This paper is an attempt to conduct a progressiverelationship from the integrated analysis of hats, hats contribute to the overallunderstanding of its evolution, with different styles of hat representing differentperiods, such anatomical hat culture convey relevant internal culture, byanalyzing the main reason for this change, I hope to provide some of thepossibilities for the development of modern hat industry basis.
