Cyanide waste water is a kind of highly toxic substances. Direct emissions will beharm to the environment and human beings directly. In reaction to the phenomenon, wetreat the cyanide wastewater to meet the emission standards though the preparation of twokinds of materials.Firstly,Modified Peanut Shell(MPS) were prepared from peanut hull by chemicalactivation with H3PO4, and then calcined at573.15K-873.15K to treat Cyanide wastewater. Modified Peanut Shell (MPS) was characterized by using micromeritics ASAP-20,SEM and EDS. Sorption of Cu and CN-on MPS was investigated under ambientconditions as a function of pH, adsorbent dosage, temperature and time. The Langmuirand Freundlich models were used to simulate the sorption isotherms of Cu at differenttemperature. The thermodynamic date were calculated from temperature dependentsorption isotherms, the results suggested that sorption process of Cu on MPS wasspontaneous and endothermic. Ritchie’s-second-order equation, Pseudo-frst-orderkinetic equation and Pseudo-second-order equation were used to simulate the sorption ofCu and CN-at different time. The results showed that Pesudo-second-order kinetic modelfted the experimental curves of Cu well and adsorption curve of CN-fited thePesudo-first order kinetic model.In order to further the cyanide wastewater treatment, this article had carried on thesecond method.Secondly,this mainly took the two-step method for making TiO2/SiO2compositecatalytic adsorption material. The two-step method of adsorption materials mainly used thepreparation of this new type of catalytic which used the ethanol sodium, silicate and butyltitanate as the solvent, silicon and a source of titanium respectively. I got the final samplesby using the sol gel method by two steps reaction, aging, dry and high temperaturecalcination. The samples were characterized by SEM EDS, XRD,FTIR and TG. Throughthe test of micromeritics2020ASAP,the material showed high specific surface and richentrance. The material was used in the gold enterprises on the containing cyanidewastewater treatment, and I found that the adsorption separation and catalytic ability ispretty good. It could not only adsorb the copper cyanide complex ions but oxidize thedecomposition cyanide. The experimental results indicated further with the adsorption andphotodegradation kinetics. Photodegradation kinetics for the destruction of CN-in water followed the first-order model well. The apparent first order reaction constants (kobc)obtained from the fittings of the model, which were in line with the destruction-removalefficiencies of CN-in all the photocatalytic experiments. And catalytic mechanism is alsostudied.The first method primarily absorbed the harmful ions from Cyanide waste water,adsorption is shifting the ion from the solution to the ion adsorption mass. The secondmethod used TiO2/SiO2composite catalytic as adsorption material to absorb copper fromCyanide waste water for recycling.
