| As the cereal crop with largest cultivated area in Tibet, highland barley is not only the basicfood source of the Tibetan people, but also the most advantageous and characteristic raw materialcrops in the region. In recent years, with the changes of dietary structure, more and more peoplepay attention to health. As the well-balanced crops, highland barley has many characteristics,suchas high content of dietary fiber, vitamins and mineral elements; protein moderate; low content ofsugar and fat. Especially, it is rich in β-glucan which has the health care function of loweringblood lipid. Therefore, more and more enterprises and research institutes participate in highlandbarley processing industrialization.Firstly, through the comparisons of cultivated area and yield of highland barley in Tibet from2002to2011, the advantages of planting highland barley in Tibet were analyzed. Now, somebarley processing enterprises had established raw material base. However, the cultivated area andyield of barley remained at120,000hectares and60million tons, respectively. Recently, thedemand for barley materials is increasing. In addition, there are some problems in barleyproduction, which the variety, quality and field management of barley can not meet the need ofproduction. Through the survey of major barley processing enterprises in Tibet, it is concludedthat the barley processing enterprises have small scale, weak of research ability and backwardprocessing technology. To date, brand products that have a certain influence are not formatted. Inthis study, the production capacities of processing enterprises in Tibet and the problems duringproduction were cleared. Therefore, some suggests were propounded to solve the problems in thebarley processing industry. |
