The Application Research Of Fabric In New Chinese Chair Design

From the1990s, the new Chinese furniture in the market began to emerge, and loved by the people. Chair is showing in front of consumers with its variety as a closely integrated with the human the types of furniture. The combination of chair and fabric art loose is mainly loose and single and not enough to meet the requirements of comfort to modern people in the modern new Chinese style furniture market. The association relationship with Chinese and western traditional seat and cloth art is studied in this paper, what can guide the design practice.First, we defined the concept of the new Chinese style chair and fabric art, and analysed the importance of fabric art in new Chinese style chair. Next, We referenced and studied the different combination of chair and fabric art between Chinese and western. The combination of Chinese traditional chair and fabric art is mainly loose and single while Western traditional seat based more on more closely combination, on the basis of which the combination mode of traditional chair and fabric art between Chinese and western was compared and the feasibility of the application of each combination mode in the new Chinese style chair was presented. Then the visual features generated by the combination of new Chinese style chair and fabric art was analysed from the combination of chair and the material of cloth art, color combination, modelling and design, and other factors four aspect obtains. Finally, in order to make the past serve the present and the foreign serve China, the design principle of the combination of new Chinese style chair and fabric art which includes comfort, modernity, nationality, artistry was studied, and the combination style of chair and fabric art and the collocation method for fabric art were summarized, the feasibility and rationality of the method were also proved through a series of new Chinese style chair design practice.Along with a variety of combinations of traditional chair and fabric art between Chinese and western, the visual features and design method and principle of the combination of new Chinese chair and fabric art were summarized through on-the-spot investigation, lots of resource collection and the combination of analysis and inductive method in the study. Therefore, it established a new direction for new Chinese chair design by incorporating fabric art into the chair.
