Protective device of mining belts employs a kind of holistic, real-time detection and protection technology. With the development of real-time protection technology, the real-time protective system based on singlechip cannot meet the needs of social development and lags behind the rapid development of terminal embedded real time protective technology because of its poor stability in harsh environment (such as coal) and the infeasibility of intelligent network. Nowadays it is almost the information industry hardware standard to use ARM processor as the embedded hardware platform of main CPU. On the one hand, it is characterized by its small size, high performance, low power consumption, high reliability; on the other hand, it provides the hardware foundation to operate the embedded OS speedily and steadily. So the embedded system based on ARM processor hardware platform and embedded operating system has been widely used in military affairs, consumer electronics, network communications, industrial control and other fields. In this paper the mine comprehensive protector based on ARM has been the researched and implemented.In this paper,techniques on following aspects are studied:firstly, the current situation and development trend of mining belts protective technology is discussed, and the development direction of belt protection and control technology is pointed out; secondly, the overall design of the mining belts protection based on ARM technology is done, the ARM model and the peripheral sensors is selected; thirdly, the hardware of belt protection system is designed, the Samsung S3C2440chip is taken as microprocessor of the hardware platform, the peripheral devices such as download and debug circuit, data acquisition and control circuit, man-machine interface circuit are finished according to system requirement. The hardware system design is a redundancy design, which provides room for the future upgrading; fourthly, the software design of belt protector is finished; fifthly, the system function test and field installation detection of belt proector is finished before it leave factory.The Code Warrior ARM integrated development environment is used to design the protective device software. The software designing includes the man-machine interface program design, system parameter setting procedure design, device normal starting protecting program design, sensor data acquisition program design, belt protection output action program design and so on. The BootLoader system bootstrap program is used in the running of application program to meet requirements of running belt protecting application program after starting.Protective device of mining belts designed in this paper takes ARM as the control core, it is a integrated intelligent monitoring equipment which concerned belt protection, start-stop control, fault alarm and shutdown, integrated information display and other functions.
