The open coal mine dump stability analysis is a critical matter in opencast mining area. As output and scale, dump capacity and height’s increasing, dump stability problem becomes more important, especially the loess floor dump. There is a Guanzigou in Weijiamao coal mine, which flows through first mining area. And after this, it will flow through the west of East NO.l dump.This is a seasonal stream and which affects the dump fractionally. Once the river jump take placement, it will affect the dump stability immensely. In fact, this river’s smoothness not only affect the stope stability and its development and the dump long-term stabilization, but localite life.Basing on the existing Wei Jiamao coal geological report, The East No.1refuse dump’s stability analysis has been investigated systematacially, which has worked out the potential failure mode. Applying the conventional rigid body limit equilibrium method, such as Bishopp method and the residual thrust method, the stability coefficient has been calculated, which is directed towards the East No.1refuse dump. Moreover, on the basis of the Wei Jiamao’s special landform, towards the East No.l refuse dump’s different positions’different conditions, this paper has studied that multiple inclination angles exercise influence over solpe safety. In addition, in this paper the imitating this refuse dump’s failure mode has been completed with numerical simulation methods, aiming at exbanding a comprehensive and accurate stability analysis. The results showed that the East No.l refuse dump potential failure mode includes both circular Slip-surface and Foundation-type landslide, which respectively happens at effluent internal and ground surface. Apart from this, a certain extent settlement deformation has also arisen. Otherwise, considering rock and earth mass nature’s nondeterminacy, slope stability influencing factor, and dump fundus shape’s polytrope, GPS displacement monitor placement programme has been worked out, which will master real-time development of slope, in order to catastrophic landslide accident.
