In recent years, the process of industrialization is increasingly accelerating.Water pollution is becoming more serious. Organic pollutants conataining organiccompounds, dyes and heavy metal ions from industrial effluents generated great threatto human health. Nanoporous polymer materials are emerging adsorbents withpromising properties such as abundant pore structures, high specific surface area, and unique organic framework. Nanoporous polymers with organic skeletons haveexhibited attractive properties in treating organic compounds due to heir oleophilicnature compared with inorganic porous materials. Thus nanoporous materials havearoused great attentions due to their enormous potential in the fields of adsorption, gasstorage, biocatalysis and sensor. However, the separation and recovery of the organicpolymers are considerably difficult for large-scale applications. To solve the problemsof separation and recovery, magnetic mesoporous materials are appealing because oftheir good absorption properties and easy separation. In this article, The magnetic mesoporous polymer (Fe3O4/PDVB) was preparedthrough post processing method. The polydivinylbenzene (PDVB) was used as asupport, FeCl3·6H2O and FeSO4·4H2O as iron sources, NaOH as a mild precipitator. The as-prepared magnetic mesoporous polymer (Fe3O4/PDVB) has large aperture (8.9nm), high specific surface area (444.7m2/g), and big volume (0.82cm3/g). Theas-prepared magnetic mesoporous polymer possessed rich porous structure, highspecific area and good adsorption performance to organic compounds, dyes and metal. In addition, the obtained mesoporous polymer was easily separated after absorptionusing external magnetic field and recycled by solvent extraction, which werefavorable for their practical application in pollutant abatement.
