The technology of abrasive water jet cutting is developed in recent years. It is a“cold” cutting technology, which carried out at common temperature. There is no dust,no odor, no gas generation, no pollution and low noise when it is operated. Thetechnology of abrasive water jet cutting has broad application prospects. With therapid development of water jet cutting, quality control of cutting has become the focusof research scholars.Control of abrasive jet cutting machine cutting parameter is directly related to themachining precision of parts. In view of the quality problems in cutting circular arcwith the present ASJ machine, this paper adopts the method of combining theoreticalanalysis and experimental research, analyse and study the effects of cuttingparameters on the quality defects, providing basis theory for optimization of arccutting quality.Material removal mechanism is the basis of the research on circular arc cuttingprocess, the process has a great influence on the formation of a quality defect. Thispaper firstly used Scanning electron microscope to observe and analyse themicrostructure on the surface of the circular arc cutting, coming to the conclusion thatabrasive particles have two kinds of effects: scratch and shock, carrying outtheoretical derivation and experimental verification of cut grain deflection principleon this basis. This thesis analyzed the influence of different processing parameters onthe grain trailing. In view of the asymmetry of two arc incision walls, proposed thatjet section exists velocity gradient, combined particle concentration annulardistribution model, deduced taper arc incision model. The model is based on the samecutting conditions of linear cutting, adding correction of speed. According to the threedifferent parts of morphology on circular section, use orthogonal experiments to studythe effect of various processing parameters on the roughness of the parts. Finally byregression of experimental data, set up roughness model of the three parts, providingreference for practical production.
