This paper is guided by the theory of structural control of gas occurrence, different types tectonic coals were taken as the researching object and the gas content and residual gas quantity in the process of coal mining were taken as the main index, in combination with the mine geological conditions and actual production, the complexity of mine structural was evaluated and analyzed, and the distribution law of tectonic coal was predicted, the gas content, residual gas quantity and the characteristics of methane emission in the process of tectonic coal mining were discussed, the main results and understanding are obtained as follows,The general level of structural complexity in Longtan Coal Mine was not high, structural complexity is main influenced by the fold structure, to a lesser, fault structure, and has obvious zonation, nearly the complexity increases from the middle to both sides of the mine. Extrapolated that the structural complexity gradual increases along with a increase of coal’s deformation degree from the middle to both sides of the mine. The adsorption capacity of coal for gas is mainly controlled by metamorphism of coal. The deformation degree played a "positive" role for the adsorption capacity. The adsorption and desorption rates, adsorption ability and cumulative desorption of coal increases with increasing deformation degree. The residual gas quantity lost is a very complex process, the residual gas quantity and its lost process were controlled by the structure type of the coal. The more deformation, the higher residual gas content and the long time need to reach the steady state under natural conditions. The more deformation, the longer carbon emission process in the coal mining. Weakly deformed coal emissions less carbon than those strong deformation coal when they have equal gas content. The more gas content, the more carbon emission when the have equal gas content. With the deformation increase, the" Gas contribution rate "becomes lager, that is to say, the more deformation, the more carbon emission when mining equal coal.
