Metal transfer modes and droplet transfer frequency have a significant effct onthe quality of weld, control the process of droplet transfer is one of the most importantapproaches which magnetron-welding technology improving welding quality. Thehigh speed camera system was used to observe and contrast droplet transfer process inMIG/MAG welding under different external longitudinal DC magnetic strength, anddiscuss its movemont from theory.The paper analyzed the transiton of metal transfer in magnetron-welding, areasonable comparison welding parameters was designed. The characteristics ofMIG/MAG welding with magnetic were analyzed on the transfer frequency and theshape of metal transfer. The results showed that the droplet transfer frequency wasincreased with the magnetic field; and the metal rotates on its axis, the shape andvolume of droplet were changed, from ball to spherodicity even to long spherodicity.Establishing and analyzing the force model of droplet, and analyzing the dropwisetransition process by static equilibrium theory.The behavior characteristics of spray transfer and rotating spray transfer werestudied. For spray transfer of magnetron control MIG welding, monitoring the weldcurrent, and analyzing mechanical characteristics of metal. The result shows that theweld current will decreased but rotating centrifugal force and electromagnetic pinchforce will increased with exciting current increased, then the transfer frequencyincreased. According energy balance and minimum voltage principle, analyzing thereason of the length become shorter. For rotating spray transfer, the rotating range andspeed will increased with magnetic field, but its path line is always in arc light areas.Analyzing the spray transfer and rotating spray transfer in theory. The main drivingforces of metal transfer are rotating centrifugal force and electromagnetic contractionforce, the droplet transfer frequency was increased with exciting current. And therotation motion under the action of magnetic field was guided by circumferentialdirection, the rotation motion curve is nearly helical line when flow beam is long, andit will become rectilinear figure rotating when flow beam is short. The papertheoretical analyze circumferential lorentz force, radial force and axial force how toeffect the form chang and movement of the liquid beam.
