Boron is widespread in the seawater and untreated sewage, it had a certainimpact on domestic, industrial and agriculture, so removal of boron has been moreand more research. The method of removal of boron has changed from the single tothe integrated process. With the more attention to the membrane technology, moreand more diversified portfolio model for removal of boron appear constantly. In the20th century has been RO-ED,RO-IE etc portfolio model for used. Due to the rapiddevelopment of the EDI technology, RO-EDI technology get more and moreattention. This thesis is based on the technology of RO-EDI to research the effect forremoval of boron, to research the pretreatment technology and core technology’streatment effect under different conditions.First pretreatment technology is studied, the relationship between the adsorptioneffect of activated carbon and boron concentration, TDS and pH etc.. Experimentsshow that the activated carbon adsorption of boron. The adsorption rate decreasedwith the rise of TDS, and the adsorption effect of activated carbon by pH changeobviously.Then we study the RO, EDI, IE under different conditions of boron removaleffect and the combined process of RO-IE and RO-EDI treatment effect. Researchshows that the combination of RO-EDI boron removal technology is feasible, boronrate is more than90%, far better than RO-IE, when the raw water of boronconcentration less than6.20mg/L, the effluent concentration of boron RO-EDI meetthe "drinking water health standards"(GB5749-2006) requirements.
