Composites materials have been used widely in many applications such asTaerospace, weapons and equipment technology, energy engineering, Marine engineering,biological engineering even Civil construction and transportation due to their highspecific strength, high specific stiffness and good Impact resistance. but at the same time,people gradually found that the ability of impact resistance of composite materials(especially the impact perpendicular to the composite plate) is relatively poor.With the background of the demand for new materials and new energy in China’srapid development of automobile industry, and the international research anddutilization of new type composite material in recent years, we set up an experimentresearches on low velocity impact damage performance of composite laminates whichmay be used in the automotive field, and did some computer simulation bysoftware.This will have an important theoretical meaning and practical meaning onthe development and dutilization of composite material in automobile industry andlightweight vehicle manufacturing and so on.(1) Doing a reaserch on the wavy interface morphology of explosive welding,compare the difference obout morphology between the tests which with differentexplosives loading factor, and analiyse its formation mechanism.(2) Explosive welding of Al-Al composite plates and the same thicknessaluminum plate were tested at same conditions by the drop weight impact tester.Detected samples impact damage by visual observation and ultrasonic nondestructivedetector, and compared damage morphology of samples. Because of the impactloading, micro defects even throughout each other at the horizontal direction. Thenestablished the impact damage model of explosive welding Al-Al composite plates,and analyzed damage characteristics of experimental results.(3) Apply laminate in explosive welding to automobile rear collision beam, didsome finite element simulation by software. Construct the3D geometric model of acertain vehicle rear collision by using UG; Then mesh it based on the strong gridpartition function of Hypermesh; establising the finite element model and importing itinto pamcrash to solve at last.
