More and more attention is paid to environment issues, and it calls for more eco-friendlychemical products to supply to market. Polyurethane is a type of material widely used withexcellent mechanical properties. Traditional polyurethane material used organic solvents todilution and lots of solvents were evaporated when used, it had no good to environment,waterborne polyurethane used much less even no organic solvents when prepared, it had agood performance in market. In this thesis, waterborne polyurethane emulsion adhesivecontaining sulfonic groups with solid content up to50%was synthesized by acetone method,effect of R value, hydrophilic chain extender, soft segments composition and hard segmentscomposition on properties of waterborne polyurethane containing sulfonic groups was deeplyinvestigated. Meanwhile, synthetic process was adjusted to optimize synthetic route.Waterborne polyurethane emulsion containing both sulfonic and carboxylic groups with samesolid content was also synthesized to have a comparison of properties with waterbornepolyurethane emulsion containing sulfonic groups.When synthesized waterborne polyurethane emulsion adhesive containing sulfonicgroups. FT-IR curves confirmed the sulfonic groups were successfully inserted on themolecule chain. The optimum conditions were: R value was1.2, hydrophilic chain extenderA95content was3.0%, n(PBA2000)/n(PBA3000) was4/6, n(HDI)/n(IPDI) was4/6, theemulsion had a excellent mechanical and adhesive performance. And investigation onsynthetic process showed that the process was controllable and the emulsion was excellentwhen prepolymerization temperature was80℃, prepolymerization time was2h, A95wasone-time feeding, reaction temperature was60℃, reaction time of A95was30min, dispersingspeed was5000rpm and water was feeding in about60s.Waterborne polyurethane emulsion adhesive containing both sulfonic and carboxylicgroups was synthesized based on the synthetic of waterborne polyurethane emulsion adhesivecontaining sulfonic groups, the optimum conditions were: DMPA content was1.6%, A95content was1.8%, TEA was selected as neutralization agent, and neutralization degree was95%, DMPAwas two-step feeding,-COOH was neutralized before emulsion dispersion. TEM,GPC, DCS and TGA were used to investigated the difference between the two different type of waterborne polyurethane emulsion adhesive, the results showed both of them had goodperformance in stability and heat-resisting, and the emulsion containing both sulfonic andcarboxylic groups did little better in mechanical and adhesive performance.
